These terms govern your use of GetSigned. By creating an account or using the API, you agree to them.

GetSigned is e-signature software and an API that lets you upload documents, collect legally binding electronic signatures, and receive a tamper-evident sealed PDF with a hash-chained audit trail. “You” means the customer using the service; “signers” are the people you send documents to.
GetSigned supports PIPEDA-defensible electronic signatures in Canada and ESIGN/UETA in the United States. It does not issue qualified/eIDAS signatures and is not a notarization service. You are responsible for confirming that an electronic signature is appropriate for your document type and jurisdiction. See legality in Canada.
On completion, GetSigned flattens fields into the document, appends an audit certificate page, and applies a service-level PKCS#7 digital signature. The audit log is append-only and hash-chained. These mechanisms make tampering detectable; they do not themselves make any particular agreement enforceable — that depends on its content and the law.
You are responsible for safeguarding your login, API client secret, and the access of your team members. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You must provide accurate signer information and have the right to send the documents you upload.
Your use must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate it, that create legal or security risk, or that abuse the platform.
Paid plans are billed in advance on the cadence shown at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with notice; changes do not affect the current paid period. Current plans are on the pricing page.
Documents follow a configurable retention policy and are then purged, while the audit record is preserved. You are responsible for downloading and keeping your own copies of completed documents. See data residency and the privacy policy.
If you configure webhooks, you are responsible for securing your endpoint, verifying event authenticity, and handling retries idempotently. We are not responsible for downstream actions your systems take in response to events.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any signed document will be enforceable in a given matter.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GetSigned is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. On termination, retention and purge of your data follow the policies referenced above.
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable province. We may update them and will revise the date above. Questions: contact@getsigned.ca.
